"I studied make-up with Debbie Jean whilst in Cape Town, South Africa. For the amount of hours I studied (30 hours/4 full days), I accomplished so much, I have been able to enter the industry with confidence and dexterity, which was beyond expectations of myself and Debbie's course. Debbie is a true creative professional, she not only concentrates on the application of make up, but also the art of using illusion within the face - and this, I learnt is incredibly important when dealing with faces such as in bridal and non-model work (where the face may need more assistance to look its best). I learnt many techniques I didn't know about my own make up style as well. Entering the industry as a make up artist was my objective, and Debbie mentored me through the course and then pointed our class in the right direction for our chosen goals. Since coming away from the course, I have worked on catwalks, a music video and some stills work. Already I am noticing that other junior artists are not as thorough as I am and I am aware of their bad habits to avoid! Consistency, practice and confidence are helping me progress now, and even though I have to push my own career, the MAKE UP course with Debbie has given me the grounding to make this break from my old career in the office."
